Chartered Accountants: Among the World’s Most Trusted Professions in an Era of AI and Misinformation
Singapore Chartered Accountants Climb to #2 in Trust—The Only Profession to See a Significant Rise.
In today’s environment of economic uncertainty, digital disruption, and declining institutional confidence, trust has become more vital than ever. Chartered Accountants offer the assurance stakeholders need to make informed decisions, drive sustainable
growth, and navigate increasingly complex challenges.
To better understand evolving perceptions, ISCA participated in the Trust Survey, conducted by Edelman DXI in partnership with Chartered Accountants Worldwide (CAW). Running since 2018, the survey provides a longitudinal view of trust
in the profession. The 2025 wave draws on insights from 1,725 senior financial decision-makers at director level and above from businesses across 10 markets- England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland, Australia, New Zealand,
Singapore, South Africa, and Zimbabwe. The research explores themes such as AI adoption, misinformation, ethics, and leadership.
Chartered Accountants continue to rank among the world’s most trusted professions. Globally, trust in the profession is rising, with Chartered Accountants seen as reliable partners in navigating AI, countering misinformation, and upholding ethical
leadership. Despite high esteem, the profession faces challenges- including a talent shortage and increasing expectations around purpose-driven leadership.
Singapore stands out as a global trust leader. Chartered Accountants here are increasingly relied upon for strategic guidance and navigating emerging risks. Strong confidence in both the profession and ISCA reinforces their role in shaping resilient,
future-ready businesses.
