MEET OUR LIST OF CHANGE-MAKERS

Beh Siew Kim

Ms Beh Siew Kim is the Chief Financial & Sustainability Officer, Lodging, CapitaLand Investment with a concurrent role as Managing Director, The Ascott Limited.  She oversees all aspects of Lodging’s finance, treasury, and investors relations functions, lead Lodging’s sustainability efforts. In addition, she has an oversight on the Ascott’s business and operations in Japan and Korea.

She is also the non-executive director on CapitaLand Ascott Trust (CLAS), a sponsored trust by The Ascott Limited. CLAS is Asia’s largest hospitality trust listed in the Singapore Stock Exchange.

Prior to this, Ms Beh was the Chief Executive Officer of the Managers of CLAS. Under her leadership, CLAS has also been recognised for its excellence in sustainability and corporate governance. CLAS was named the ‘Global Sector Leader – Hotel’ in the Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark, ranked 1st in the Singapore Governance and Transparency Index for REITs and Business Trusts and was also the first hospitality trust globally to issue a sustainability linked bond in April 2022.

Ms Beh is a member of ISCA’s Sustainability and Climate Change Committee (SCCC) and she chairs the SCCC’s Capacity Building Sub-Committee.

She has over 25 years of experience in investment, financial and corporate planning, development, compliance and audit.


David Chew

Mr David Chew, 57, graduated with an LLB (Hons) from the National University of Singapore in 1991 and worked as a litigation lawyer prior to joining the Singapore Legal Service in 1992 as a State Courts (formerly known as the Subordinate Courts) Magistrate/Deputy Registrar. He was appointed as a District Judge in 1997. He was posted to the Attorney-General’s Chambers in 1999 as a Deputy Public Prosecutor.

Mr Chew is currently the Director of the Commercial Affairs Department of the Singapore Police Force. Prior to his secondment to the Police Force, he was a Deputy Chief Prosecutor of the Economic Crimes and Governance and the Financial and Technology Crime Divisions, AGC. During his stint at AGC, served as the in-house Deputy Public Prosecutor at Chambers’ satellite office in the Commercial Affairs Department between 1 June 07 – 1 April 09.


Jean-Michel Coeur (1)

Jean-Michel carries more than 30 years' experience in data analytics &, consulting, spanning the US, Europe and Asia across Financial Services, Telecommunications, High Tech Manufacturing, Media & Entertainment, Transportation.

The past 6+ years, Jean-Michel led teams of data & machine learning engineers to implement data analytics & AI/ML projects across public clouds in the APAC region.

Today, Jean-Michel is putting his Data Analytics & AI/ML knowledge in practical use to grow a team of data analytics experts and achieve Google's mission: "to organize the world's information and make it universally accessible and useful”.


Lawrence Eng

Mr Lawrence Eng is a retired Senior Police Officer with a 30-year career in a diverse array of investigative roles. In 2016 he was seconded from the SPF to IRAS where he assumed the role of the Assistant Commissioner of the Investigation & Forensics Division (IFD) within IRAS. Over the next 6 years, he has elevated the IFD’s capabilities and capacities, ensuring its readiness for the challenges of the future. In 2022, he retired from the SPF and joined IRAS.

Mr Lawrence Eng is currently the Director of Investigation Branch 3 within IFD. He leads and oversees IFD’s Digital Forensics Team, Tactical Intelligence Team and Field Operations Team. 


Fang Ai Lian

Mrs Fang Ai Lian is an Independent Director of Cromwell EREIT Management Pte Ltd and Singapore Post Limited. She is also the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Singapore Business Federation and Medishield Life Council, a member of the SGX Listings Advisory Committee, and board member of the SingHealth Fund Limited.

Mrs Fang served as Chairperson of Great Eastern Holdings Limited and its insurance subsidiaries until her retirement. She was also previously advisor to Far East Organization Group, a member of the Singapore University of Technology and Design’s and Singapore Management University’s Board of Trustees, Duke-NUS Medical School’s Governing Board, and an independent director of Banyan Tree Holdings Limited, Singapore Telecommunications Limited, Oversea-Chinese Banking Corporation Limited, Mediacorp, Jubilant Pharma Limited, Metro Holdings Limited and Tote Board.

Prior to that, she was with EY for 37 years where she last held the position of Chairman of EY Singapore. She also previously served as Chairman of the Charity Council, was a Justice of the Peace and was awarded the Public Service Star (Bar) in 2021.

Mrs. Fang is a Fellow of the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants and has been accorded the ISCA Distinguished Lifetime Member.


Derrick Goh

Derrick is the Group Head of Audit at DBS Bank.  He was Head of POSB before he led the Regional Treasures & Treasures Private Client Wealth Management business.  Derrick was also Regional COO and CFO of the Institutional Banking Group and Head of Planning and Analytics at Group Finance.


Before DBS, Derrick spent 11 years at American Express in senior finance roles in Paris, London, New York and Singapore.  He currently chairs the Board Audit and Risk Committee, GovTech Singapore.  He serves as MP (Nee Soon GRC) and is a member of the Public Accounts Committee.  Derrick is a CPA.  He graduated from NTU in Accountancy and the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania with an MBA (Finance).


Kuldip Gill (1)

Ms Kuldip Gill is the Assistant Chief Executive of the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA) and oversees the Accounting Regulatory and Sustainability Group which supports ACRA in developing a progressive and responsive regulatory regime as the regulator of business registration, financial reporting, public accountants and corporate service providers. This includes the oversight of public accountants and public accounting entities, financial reporting by companies, as well as setting the strategic direction for ACRA’s enforcement efforts over business entities and company directors. Her responsibilities also include oversight of matters relating to Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) reporting and assurance matters, from a regulatory perspective.

Kuldip leads ACRA’s involvement in the International Forum of Independent Audit Regulators (IFIAR), of which ACRA is a member of the IFIAR Board, Global Audit Quality Working Group and Technology Task Force. She also serves as the Chair of the Human Resources and Governance Committee of the IFIAR Board.

Kuldip has more than 30 years’ experience in public accounting in various countries in the region including Australia, Hong Kong and Singapore, with extensive experience in the audits of multinational and local companies in a wide spectrum of industries. Prior to joining ACRA, she was a partner in one of the Big-4 firms in Singapore and was responsible for some of the quality aspects of the network firm.

Kuldip is a member of the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants.

 


Rupali Gupta

Rupali is a Senior Client Partner at Korn Ferry, working with Life Sciences clients in APAC to bring the best people and solutions to meet client needs.

As a practitioner and thought leader, she has a track record of driving impactful transformations for clients. Prior to joining KornFerry, she led the ASEAN Talent and Transformation Practice for a leading HR Consulting Firm. She has also served as the Leadership, Talent, and Organization Development Head for a pharmaceutical company for Emerging Markets (Asia Pacific, Latin America, Middle East and Africa).

Rupali has lived, worked and travelled to over 40 countries and brings an inclusive and diverse perspective to work.
Michael Heng (1)

Michael has over 28 years of experience in auditing, accounting and taxation and is currently managing partner of Heng Lee Seng LLP, a mid-sized public accounting firm.

He graduated from the University of Melbourne with a Bachelor of Commerce degree, is a fellow member of the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants, CPA Australia and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants; a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors (Singapore) and the Singapore Institute of Directors. He holds the designation of an Accredited Tax Advisor (ATA) of the Singapore Institute of Accredited Tax Professionals.

Michael is an active member of ISCA, being a member of the Public Accounting Practice Committee.

 


Aylwin How (2)

Aylwin has professional services experience of 19 years, and is an audit partner with Deloitte & Touche LLP. In addition to client service, he is also leading the Quality agenda in Singapore and looks after various technical audit and accounting matters, including roll out of implementation of new auditing pronouncements and accounting .

Aylwin’s industry focus is the financial services industry and his technical accounting specialization is financial instruments accounting. As part of his client service role, Aylwin has supported clients in their accounting assessment of complex transactions, as well as implementation of new standards.

Aylwin is also a member of the ISCA’s Financial Reporting Committee. He is also part of the ISCA’s SFRS(I) 9 working group.

In addition to the professional roles mentioned above, Aylwin is an adjunct professor in a local university for undergraduate and postgraduate studies covering accounting topics including business combinations and derivatives- hedge accounting.


Brian Ho

Brian Ho is a Partner and the Sustainability and Climate Assurance Leader for the Asia-Pacific and Southeast Asia at Deloitte. With 20 years of experience in the field of sustainable development, he provides professional services to clients and is also responsible for driving Deloitte's ESG services in the Asia Pacific region.

Brian holds various positions in the sustainability field and is actively promoting climate and sustainability development. Prior to joining Deloitte, he worked as a partner for eight years in the China division of an international professional firm and served as the China Regional Director for a sustainable development consulting company in the Asia Pacific region for ten years. In addition, he actively participates in sustainable education initiatives in the region and collaborates with educational institutions to drive development projects. He is also a doctoral candidate specializing in corporate governance and sustainability.


Marian

Marian is with is current employer, Marsh Mc Lennan Companies for 14 years and currently running their Corporate and Commercial client Segment in Asia, which comprises all clients up to 500m US$ turnover. Before relocating to Asia in 2018 Marian led the M&A operations for Marsh in Germany and Central Eastern Europe after his return from the US M&A team in New York in 2015.


Kevin Kan

Kevin Kan is a multi-award-winning Professional Coach, mentor, mediator & business leader.  He is also a Chartered Accountant & CPA. With an international career spanning over 30 years in corporate and multinational organizations, Kevin has held management consulting and senior executive management positions in organizations such as AIMIA, American Express, Hewlett-Packard (HP), IBM, PwC Consulting & KPMG Consulting. 

He now coaches & mentors C-level & executive clients to help them gain clarity, confidence & focus to maximize their potential & performance.  Kevin is a diversity & inclusion ally & you will find him regularly featured in media including Forbes, Marketing Magazine & Human Resources Magazine.  He is currently an Advisory Council Member for Harvard Business Review.

 

Joanne Khew

Dr. Joanne Khew has more than 12 years of experience in ESG and Sustainability. She is currently a Director, ESG Specialist at Eastspring Investments Singapore. Reporting to the Chief Investment Officer, Joanne works across the equities, fixed income and private market investment teams to deepen ESG integration throughout the investment cycle. Her role spans the creation of proprietary ESG analysis tools, the design of ESG monitoring and engagement systems and ESG development.

Prior to joining Eastspring, she was Director, Sustainable Finance and Strategic Partnerships at Standard Chartered Bank where she contributed to growing the sustainable financing portfolio in Asia across sustainable debt, trade and derivative products. She was also involved in the establishment of market-making initiatives such as the Climate Impact X carbon credit marketplace. Joanne held the role of ESG Specialist at the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank where she expanded its Sustainable Capital Markets Initiative, ensuring ESG and Climate integration across the investment cycle for capital market, loans and private equity products.

Joanne graduated with a PhD in Sustainability Science from the University of Tokyo’s Graduate Program in Sustainability Science.

 

 

Marcus Lam

Marcus is the Executive Chairman of PwC Singapore and he is with the firm for more than 25 years.  Marcus has many years of professional experience providing audit and advisory and consulting services to listed companies, multinational corporations and government agencies across different industries and sectors in Singapore.

 

Outside of PwC, Marcus is active in the non-profit sectors, he is the Deputy Chairman of the Singapore Polytechnic Board of Governors, a Member of the Accounting Standards Committee of ACRA, a Board of Director of LASALLE College of the Arts and a Council Member of the Singapore National Employers Federation.  In addition, he is a Director of the Defence Science and Technology Agency, a Chairman of the Edusave Advisory Council, Ministry of Education and Chairman of the Alumni Advisory Board of Nanyang Business School, Nanyang Technological University of Singapore.

 

Mr Lam holds a First Class (Honours) Accountancy degree from the Nanyang Technological University.  He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst and a practicing member of ISCA and a member of the ASEAN Chartered Professional Accountant (ASEAN CPA).  

Lee Bing Yi

Bing Yi is a Partner in PwC Singapore’s Sustainability & Climate Change practice, supporting organisations in sustainability strategy, risk management, reporting and assurance across various industries including banks, asset managers, real estate as well as other large corporates. He is the Banking ESG lead at PwC Singapore and has led various sustainability assurance and advisory engagements in his career focusing on sustainable financing, sustainability reporting and climate risk management.

Aside from his specialism in sustainability, Bing Yi is also a Banking & Capital Markets specialist and a practising public accountant, experienced in providing audit, assurance and advisory services to various banks and financial institutions in Singapore and Australia.

Lee Hui Fang

Hui Fang helps people stay well, away from pain! She plays the role of introducing individuals to the wonders of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) through simple and easy hands-on activities. She envisions individuals starting their self-care journey early to stay healthy.

 

Vivian Lee

Ms. Vivian Lee started her career as an auditor in KPMG Hong Kong. Upon obtaining her qualification as a Certified Public Accountant, she joined the Hong Kong Police Force in 2005.  She has over 10 years of experience in fraud and money laundering investigations. She currently oversees the investigation of serious commercial and financial crimes, listed company fraud, forgery of monetary instruments and payment cards fraud. She collaborates closely with the Mainland and International law enforcement agencies on the exchange of intelligence and investigation requests in relation to relevant cross-jurisdictional crimes.

Liew Nam Soon

Nam Soon is EY Asean Regional Managing Partner as well as EY Singapore and Brunei Managing Partner responsible for business performance and client services across assurance, consulting, tax, strategy and transactions services in 14 geographic markets.

Prior to this, he was EY Asean Markets Managing Partner and EY Asean Financial Services Managing Partner, working with some of the largest financial services institutions across Asia.

Nam Soon has extensive consulting and industry experience in retail, corporate, investment and private banking; asset management; insurance; private equity and FinTech. This includes advising senior executives on business strategy, digital transformation, risk management and governance, regulatory compliance, M&A and managed services.

Vance Lim

Vance currently holds the position as the Head of SEA Partnerships at Employment Hero, where he oversees the strategic growth initiatives within the SEA region.

His entrepreneurial journey started off in his early twenties when he established a corporate services firm, which he successfully built from the ground up and later saw it acquired in 2019. Vance has been actively involved in the SMEs and SMPs sector, championing the cause of digital transformation. As a former Xero Account Manager, he worked in close collaboration with Small and Mid-sized accounting firms, spearheading the integration of technology to improve their internal accounting processes.

 

 

Ng Kian Hui

Kian Hui has more than 27 years of experience in providing auditing and assurance services to clients in Singapore and China. His clients are owner-managed companies, listed companies, multinational corporation and state-owned enterprise in diverse industries including property development, construction, education, professional services and natural resources etc.

Kian Hui is the Technical Partner and Head of Audit of BDO LLP in Singapore.  He is also a member of the BDO Global IFRS Policy Committee.  Kian Hui serve as a member of the ISCA Financial Reporting Committee and ISCA Audit & Assurance Committee – Core Sub-Committee.

Cyndi Pei

Cyndi Pei is CFO of Digital InfraCo business in Singtel which includes the regional data centre business, subsea cable and satellite carrier businesses as well as enterprise platform.

Cyndi brings with her more than 20 years of experience including those garnered from helming a full spectrum of finance and corporate responsibilities in an SGX-listed food and beverage company and her formative years in a Big Four accounting firm.

Cyndi is a Fellow Chartered Accountant (Singapore) and a Council Member of ISCA.  Cyndi also serves as an Audit & Risk Committee member of SATA CommHealth, a charitable healthcare organization.

 

Lennon Tan

Aslam Sardar is the Chief Executive Officer of the Institute for Human Resource Professionals (IHRP). He has over 20 years of corporate, start-up and NGO experience, leading and managing teams to drive change and transformation. He has worked in various roles such as business development, process improvement, and commercial performance monitoring and reporting in the IT, supply chain and adult education sectors.

Aslam is a member of the Jobs and Skills Advisory Committee (JSAC) in Singapore Business Federation (SBF). He sits on the Board of Tasek Jurong Limited and serves in Taman Jurong as an active community volunteer. Aslam was presented the Public Service Medal during National Day in 2016. In addition, Aslam has played an instrumental role in establishing GreenSG COLLAB Ltd., a charity focusing on building a community of shared learning and action to help protect the balance of human life with the natural world so that all can thrive in it.

Aslam was awarded an MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business and obtained a 1stClass Honours degree in Marketing from Curtin University of Technology. He is a WSQ Advanced Certificate in Learning and Performance (ACLP) Certified Adult Educator, Prosci® Certified Change Practitioner, and is trained in the Institute of Cultural Affairs (ICA) Technology of Participation (ToP) Group Facilitation.

John Tan (1)

Mr John Tan is an audit partner in Deloitte & Touche LLP and has more than 27 years of public accounting experience, including 3½ years in the United States (Silicon Valley) where he specialized in the audits of technological companies. During his professional career, he manages a diverse client portfolio, comprising Singapore public listed companies and large multinational corporations in a broad range of industries. He has significant experience in international coordination, cross border audits and regional shared service centre audits. In addition to his knowledge on Singapore FRS and IFRS, he has relevant experience in US GAAP, US GAAS and PCAOB reporting requirements.

Besides being in his client service role, he is the Regional Professional Practice Director heading the technical department and leading the quality initiatives of the Deloitte South-East Asia.  

He is a member of both the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (“ISCA”) and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (“AICPA”). He is also a member of the ISCA Audit and Assurance Standards Committee (AASC) Core Sub-committee. 

Lennon Tan

Mr Lennon Tan is the Group Chairman of ADERA Global. Lennon started his career as an engineer in the Petrochemical industry before spending 10 years with the American Multinational 3M. In 2001, he decided to pursue his dream of being an entrepreneur. After taking over a small smart card manufacturing business in China, he tapped on technology and innovation to transform the manufacturing outfit into the top 10 global smart card producers in the world and thereafter transforming the company’s capabilities to lead in fields of artificial intelligence, biometric authentication, automation, fintech and data analytics, supporting major sectors ranging from banks, insurance, government, healthcare, telecommunications and transport worldwide. The group was awarded ASEAN Business Award Overall Winner for Priority Integration Sector (ICT) in 2018.
 
In 2016, Lennon was awarded ASEAN Teochew Entrepreneur Award and in 2017, he was named EY Entrepreneur of the Year (Financial Technology Enablement) by global professional services firm Ernst & Young. He is also the President of the Teochew Entrepreneurs Club, he sits on judging panel of Women Entrepreneur Awards, and serves as advisor to the Women Entrepreneur Club.

Paul Tan

Paul is a practicing accountant since 1995.  Over the years, he has acquired 2 small practices, divested his non-assurance business to a private equity firm and recently merged with another public accounting practice.  He is the Chairman of Nexia Singapore PAC, a full-service public accounting practice with more than 100 professionals and 9 partners.

Paul is an approved auditor, licensed insolvency practitioner, accredited tax advisor and practicing management consultant.  He has hands-on experience in many aspects of a public practice including Audit and Assurances, Corporate Secretarial Services, Accounting, Tax Compliance and Advisory, Internal Audit, Enterprise Risk Management, Sustainability Reporting, Merger & Acquisition advisory, Corporate Restructuring and Recovery services etc.

He currently serves on the Board of several SGX listed companies as independent director and takes on the role as Audit Committee Chairman.

Being a trained and accredited mediator of the Consumer Association of Singapore (CASE), he has successfully mediated numerous matters on behalf of CASE since 1999.

Michael Tang
Michael is the head of Listing Policy & Product Admission and the Sustainable Development Office at Singapore Exchange Regulation (SGX RegCo), a subsidiary of Singapore Exchange (SGX Group) that undertakes frontline regulatory functions. In his two roles Michael oversees listing policy and rules development, the admission of securities products and sustainability-related issues on the regulatory front. He leads efforts to promote sustainability across stakeholder groups. Michael graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) with a Bachelor of Laws degree and is admitted to the Singapore bar. Michael is a member of the Sustainability Reference Group of the International Ethics Standards Board for Accountants (IESBA) and a member of the Capital Markets Technical Committee of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI).
Don Wee

Mr Don Wee was elected as Council member in 2019 and is currently a member of the Audit Committee and is the Advisor of the ISCA Young Professionals Advisory Committee.

Don is working with UOB’s Corporate Sustainability Office and is also a Member of Parliament. He serves with the Government Parliamentary Committee for Sustainability and the Environment.

Don is member of the Accountancy Workforce Review Committee which is co-chaired by Ministry of Finance 2nd Permanent Secretary Ms Lai Wei Lin and Mr Chaly Mah. He is also member of the Government’s Green Skills Committee’s Sustainability Reporting and Assurance working group.

Wang Ji Wei

Dr Wang Jiwei is Associate Professor of Accounting (Practice) at Singapore Management University (SMU). He is also the program director of Master of Professional Accounting and Master of Science in Accounting (Data & Analytics) programs. He has been teaching various courses such as data analytics with Python and R, data-driven financial and investment decisions, capital markets in China, business valuation, and corporate reporting and financial analysis at both undergraduate and postgraduate/executive levels. Dr Wang is a member of ISCA Financial Reporting Committee, a fellow of CPA Australia and a board member of a public listed company. Dr Wang holds a Ph.D. degree in Accounting from Hong Kong University of Science & Technology and a Bachelor degree in Economics (with Accounting major) from Xi’an Jiaotong University.

Wong Wanyi (1)

Wanyi is PwC Singapore’s FinTech Leader as well as a Banking and Capital Markets Partner in the Financial Services Assurance Practice. Wanyi has extensive experience providing assurance and advisory services across PwC Network firms in Singapore, New York and Sydney. As PwC Singapore’s FinTech Leader, she is the key partner that works with startups, venture capitalists to fintech unicorns, financial institutions and regulators.

Holly Yang

Dr. Holly Yang is currently the Co-Director of the School of Accountancy Research Centre and an Associate Professor of Accounting. She completed her graduate studies at Cornell University and taught at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania prior to joining SMU. Her current research focuses on the externalities of climate-related disclosure, and she has published in several top academic journals. Her work has also been cited in major business outlets such as the Wall Street Journal and Business Times. She is an award-winning instructor and currently teaches Sustainability Accounting and Reporting at SMU.

Yeow Hui Cheng

Hui Cheng is an Assurance Partner and Deputy Professional Practice Director at EY.  She has more than 24 years of professional audit experience, serving Singapore and US public listed companies with a focus on Technology, Media and Telecommunications (TMT) sector. Experienced with both US GAAP and IFRS and the US SEC rules and SGX listing rules, she has assisted many companies in tapping capital markets through equity and debts offering in Singapore and the US. Hui Cheng is also the Digital Audit Leader at EY responsible for leading the transformation of the Digital Audit.

Hui Cheng is a practicing member of ISCA and currently the Chairperson of ISCA Auditing and Assurance Standards Committee. 

Yiong Yim Ming

Ms Yiong Yim Ming was first elected to the ISCA Council in 2018 and was appointed on the Investment Committee in 2022. Previously, she was a member of the Continuing Professional Education Committee from 2017 to 2022 and was also a mentor of the ISCA Mentoring Programme for Aspiring CFOs in 2017. Ms Yiong is a member of the United Nations Global Compact’s CFO Taskforce for Sustainable Development Goals, as well as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Singapore University of Social Sciences.

Ms Yiong joined City Developments Limited (CDL) in 2007 as an executive and was appointed as Chief Financial Officer in April 2016. She was re-designated as Group Chief Financial Officer on 1 February 2018. She has extensive knowledge of the Group's financial and operation matters, both domestically and overseas, covering the Group's operations in property development, investment properties and hotels. Ms Yiong has strong technical competencies, specialising in the real estate sector, harnessed through 12 years of audit experience. Prior to joining CDL, she served a 10-year stint in KPMG Singapore and was with Ernst & Young Singapore for 2 years.
