Reduced Subscription Fee and Fee Waiver Application

Members facing financial hardship or unemployment can apply for reduced subscription fees. Female members rejoining the workforce can apply for a subscription fee waiver.

Application Requirements

Financial Hardship
Members (except for Member-in-Retirement) facing financial hardship due to medical conditions, pro-family reasons, or unemployment can apply for a 50% reduction of the full membership fee. Financial hardship is defined as a minimum of one year of unemployment starting from 1 January of the preceding year before the year of subscription.

The Institute may also grant special waivers for terminally ill members on a discretionary basis.

Women Returning to the Workforce

Female members planning to return or recently returned to the workforce can apply for a subscription fee waiver.

Eligibility Criteria for Fee Waiver:

  • Women who have taken a career break or have been unemployed for at least one year due to pro-family reasons, medical circumstances, or unemployment.
  • Women actively seeking permanent or contract positions.
  • Women who have re-entered the workforce within the past year, no earlier than 1 January of the previous year.

To illustrate:
Women can either be actively seeking a job (unemployed) or have found a job this year or last year. It has to be more than 1 year since they were last gainfully employed.

Application Timeline

Submit your application online by 31 January of the year of renewal before renewing your membership.

All requests will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and members will be informed via email on the outcome of their appeal.

Terms and conditions for one-year free ISCAccountify subscription (“Subscription Offer”)

  1. The Subscription Offer is available to individuals who have been granted waiver or reduction in membership subscription fees.
  2. The Subscription Offer provides you with access to the ISCAccountity for a period of one year from the date of activation.
  3. The Subscription Offer is non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash or any other goods or services.
  4. The Subscription Offer may not be combined with any other offer or discount unless explicitly stated by ISCA.
  5. ISCA reserves the right to terminate or suspend the Subscription Offer at any time without prior notice. Upon termination, your access to the e-learning software will be immediately revoked.

ISCA reserves the right to amend the Terms for the Subscription Offer at any time without prior notice.

FAQs

Request for reduction of fee may be granted to any member on grounds of financial hardship due to medical condition or pro-family reasons. These may include but not limited to the following circumstances.  All requests will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

  • Onerous caring duties for close family member
  • Long term illness and/or serious ill health
  • Extended maternity/paternity leave
  • Unemployment to pursue further studies

Female members planning to return or recently returned to the workforce. Please refer to the eligibility criteria for fee waiver.

Members facing terminal illness may be granted waiver a discretionary basis.

To support your application, please provide a description of your circumstances and upload any of the following documents: 

  • CPF Statement for the previous year
  • Income tax return/notice of assessment
  • Medical endorsement documents, such as a doctor's letter or medical certificate (for medical conditions only)

For women returning to the workforce, please include:

  • Records of job applications or an employment letter issued no earlier than 1 January of the preceding year.

Members can be granted a maximum of 5 fee reductions during their membership with the Institute. For female members returning to the workforce, a fee waiver can be granted once during the year when they are seeking job or returned to the workforce. For subsequent years where they are still seeking employment, a 50% reduced fee support will be available.

 

 

Each application is evaluated on a case-by-case basis, and the decision is final. In the event of rejection, the member will need to renew at the standard membership subscription fee.

Once your reduced fee or fee waiver application is approved, you will automatically receive one-year complimentary access to ISCAccountify, a subscription-based learning platform offering self-paced, bite-sized learning to help you meet your CPE requirements.

We strongly encourage you to engage in continuing professional education to stay updated with the latest developments in business and accountancy. You'll have an additional 6 months to fulfill any remaining hours and make up for any shortfall.

Members who have difficulty meeting the CPE requirements and are not engaged in professional work may submit a separate CPE exemption request.
